GRANBY, Mass. -- The McCann Tech cross country team Wednesday traveled to Granby to compete against Granby, Greenfield, Palmer and Hopkins on a 3.1-mile course.

The Hornets came up short in points and placed fourth in both the boys and girls races, but they ran hard and finished strong, coach Eileen Monyahan said.

Coming in first for the McCann boys, Jerry McCarthy finished in 20 minutes, 57 seconds with a strong finish line kick. He was quickly followed by Lukas Yelle at 21:37 and Cory Hartley at 22:04.
