Boomsma Scores Twice as Eagles Earn First Win

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Dylan Boomsma socred a pair of goals, and Cole Duval stopped 28 shots Saturday as the Mount Everett hockey team earned its first win of the season, a 4-1 triumph over Shepaug, Conn., at the Berkshire School.
 
Josh Hunter got things started with a goal on assists from Blake Cella and Boomsma. Boomsma then scored himself with help from Josh Hunter and Cooper Shepardson to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.
 
Shepaug scored the only goal of the second period.
 
In the third, Carly Duval scored with assists from Nathaniel VonRuden and Grayson Duval. And Hunter set up Boomsma for and empty net goal.
 
Mount Everett goes to Pittsfield to play Wahconah on Tuesday.
