Mount Greylock Boys Tennis Earns Win

SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Ryan Narey and Finn Carothers won a second-set tie-break at No. 1 doubles Tuesday to help the Mount Greylock boys tennis team earn a 3-2 win over Mount Everett.
 
Narey and Carothers edged the Eagles' Matt Kane and Marc Gogel, 6-0, 7-6 (3-7).
 
The Mounties picked up singles wins from Jacob Fink at No. 1 and Nate Verter at No. 3. 
 
Mount Everett's Gray Duval won a three-setter against Gabe Gerry at second singles, 6-7 (7-4), 6-2, 6-2. And the Eagles' Isaiah Neski and Mickey Masters beat Mount Greylock's Troy Michalal and Ryan Keating at second doubles.
 
Ava Simon and Piper Schulman won a second-set tie-breaker at second doubles to help the Mount Greylock girls defeat Mount Everett, 4-1.
 
Simon and Schulman edged Grace Makuc and Mercedes Holst-Grubbe, 6-0, 7-6 (7-4).
 
The Mounties picked up singles wins by Hannah Gilooly and Charlotte Sanford at second and third, respectively. Josie Dalsin and Olivia Winters earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at first doubles.
 
Mount Everett's Madeline Von Ruden battled to a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, win over Mia Vandeurzen at No. 1 singles.
