Mount Everett Boys, Lee Girls Tennis Pick Up Wins

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Cole Duval earned a hard-fought win at first singles Monday as the Mount Everett boys tennis team beat Lee, 3-2.
 
Duval edged Sammy Banga, 7-6 (8-6), 7-5.
 
Gray Duval earned a 6-1, 6-4 win at second singles, and the Eagles got a 6-4, 7-6 win at first doubles from the tandem of Marc Gogel/Jake Margin.
 
Lee’s Anthony Lockenwitz won at third singles, and Mason Mihlek and Cam Tyler earned a point for the Wildcats at No. 2 doubles.
 
In the girls match, Lee’s Ava Martin edged Madeline Von Ruden at No. 1 as the Wildcats took a 5-0 win.
 
Martin won a tie break in the second set to win, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Anna Wang and Caroline Maloney picked up straight-set wins at second and third singles, respectively.
 
The Wildcats got doubles wins from the tandems of Suriana Lee/Sophie Zukowski and Cindy NI/Jillian Artioli.
