Swann, Swabey Lead Mount Greylock at Mount Everett

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Oliver Swabey and Katherine Swann led a pair of sweeps for the Mount Greylock boys and girls cross country teams on Saturday morning at Mount Everett.
 
Swabey finished in 18 minutes, 16.94 seconds to top the field by more than 41 seconds and lead the Mounties to a 15-50 dual meet win.
 
The Mount Greylock girls also stayed unbeaten on the young season, earning 15 points. The Eagles did not have enough girls to post a team score.
 
Katherine Swann (21:12.06) took first place for the second straight week.
 
She led a pack of Mounties that included Grace Malone (21:54.79), Jacqueline Wells, Ainsley Abel and Hazel Scullin in second through fifth place.
 
The first Eagle across the finish line in the girls race was freshman Kathryn Cohen (32.05.19).
 
On the boys side, Charles McWeeny (18:58.13), Ezra Holzapfel, Parker Winters and Gabriel Gerry joined Swabey in the scoring column.
 
Eighth-grader Matthew Lowe (23:28.31) led the Mount Everett boys, who go to Monument Mountain next Saturday.
 
Mount Greylock is home against Wahconah on Saturday.
