Mount Everett Boys Defend Home Course

SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Ben Vella placed second overall Wednesday to lead the Mount Everett boys cross country team to wins over Monument Mountain and Lee on the Eagles’ home course.

 

Vella clocked a time of 18 minutes, 25 seconds to be runner-up to Monument Mountain’s Autumn Higa (17:37).

 

Mount Everett’s boys also got a top 10 finish from Jonathan Fredsall, who came in eighth.

 

Lenox’s boys took places three through six, led by William Keefe with a time of 18:49 as the Millionaires also picked up wins over Lee and Monument Mountain to go 2-0 at the meet.

 

Lenox’s girls were 2-0 after placing four runners in the top six, led by Elyssa Scrimo, who placed second in 20:54.

 

Amelia Desilets ran away with first place for the second straight week, clocking a time of 20:01 to help Monument Mountain beat Mount Everett and Lee.

 

The Spartans could not catch Lenox in the team competition, though. The Millionaires ended up beating Monument Mountain’s girls by just three points.
