Taconic Boys Edge New Lebanon

NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Stevie Zuccalo won a pair of races Monday to lead the Taconic boys swim team to a 47-45 win over New Lebanon.
 
Zuccalo won the 100-yard freestyle in 1 minute, .78 seconds, and the 50 free in 26.09.
 
He also swam anchor on Taconic's winning 200 medley relay quartet and a length on the team's winning 200 free relay squad.
 
Taconic's boys clinched the meet in the 100 breaststroke, where Scott Langlois edged New Lebanon's Allison Slater in one of the closer finishes of the day.
 
Langlois touched in 1:16.81, head of Slater's 1:17.50.
 
That gave the visitors a 44-38 lead going into the final event, the 400 free relay, where the New Lebanon quartet of Liam Buckenroth, Lance Schroeder, Alex Sotek and Slater placed first in 4:12.24.
 
New Lebanon is fielding a co-ed team this winter.
 
The Tigers did not contest Taconic in the girls, where Mia Zuccalo won a pair of races against her teammates, touching first in the 50 free (27.64) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.07).
