Kays Leads Taconic Golfers to One-Stroke Win at Mount Greylock

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Mike Kays carded a 40 on Tuesday to lead the Taconic golf team to a 172-173 win over Mount Greylock at Waubeeka Golf Links.
 
The Mounties' Kyle Alvarez blistered the course with a 2-over 38 to earn medalist honors. Alvarez' day included a birdie on the eighth hole.
 
But Taconic got solid scores from Ross Omelenchuck (41), Tim Curry (44) and Connor Champoux and Brent Arseneau (47 each) to back up Kays.
 
Mount Greylock got a 41 from Ben Gilooly. Hunter Sarkis (45) and Bennett Zimmerman (49) also scored for Mount Greylock.
 
The Mounties travel to Pittsfield on Thursday. Taconic is home Thursday against Lenox.
