Wahconah Boys, Girls Take Wins from New Lebanon

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Josh Kunzmann won a pair of races, and the Wahconah boys swim team took first in ever event to earn an 83-50 won over New Lebanon on Wednesday at the YMCA.
 
Wahconah’s girls also won their dual meet, 117-49, behind a pair of wins by Analise Reardon.
 
In the boys meet, Kunzmann won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 39.87 seconds, and the 500 free in 6:03.45. Jacob Kunzmann, Noah Schweitzer, and Fred Sears also won contested events, and Wahconah’s newcomers, Pedro Santos and Xavier Wellington, helped add depth and allowed the team to sweep the relays.
 
Reardon won the 200 individual medley in 3:28.83 and the 100 backstroke in 1:35.16. Kelsey Charon won the 500 free in dominating fashion, touching in 6:59.34, more than a minute ahead of the field.
 
And the Charon teamed with Kat Wilson, Sabrina Holland and Amelia Berquist to win edge New Lebanon’s top quartet in the 4-by-100 free relay, finishing in 5:36.25.
 
Wahconah hosts Monument Mountain next Wednesday.
