Sears, Kunzmann Lead Wahconah Swimmers to Victory

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Jacob Kunzmann and Fred Sears each won a pair of events Friday to lift the Wahconah boys swimming team to an 87-75 win over Mount Anthony at the YMCA.
 
Kunzmann won the 200-meter freestyle in 2 minutes, 34.41 seconds, nearly half a minute ahead of the field. He then took the 100 butterfly in 1:11.79.
 
Sears won the 50 freestyle in 27.02 and the 100 free in 1:01.16.
 
Mount Anthony's girls won their dual against Wahconah, 74-71.
 
Mary Mendez led the way for the Patriots with wins in the 200 individual medley (3:09.09) and 100 backstroke (1:19.84). She also swam lead leg on two winning relays for Mount Anthony.
 
Wahconah picked up three individual first place finishes on the girls side.
 
Arlynn Keefner won the 500 freestyle in 6:51.62. Ashleee Davis took the 200 free in 2:57.34 with a razor-thin, .31 second margin. Amelia Bergquist won the 100 breaststroke in 1:34.38.
