Sears won the 50-meter freestyle in 26.25 seconds and the 100 free in 1:00.15 to highlight Wahconah’s victory.

The Taconic Hills girls, who previously had clinched the South title, beat Wahconah, 107-60.

Jacob Kunzmann and Zach Archambault also earned a pair of victories in the boys’ win.

Kunzmann won the 200 free in 2:29.47 and the 100 backstroke in 1:15.97.

Wahconah’s Evan Strout won the 100 fly in 1:55.51, and the team took first in the medley relay and 400 free relay.

Strout also provided the meet and conference-title clinching points when he placed fifth in the 100 back to give Wahconah a 75-57 lead that the Titans could not overcome.

Taconic Hills had a trio of double-winners: Emma Avenia in the 200 free (2:36.51) and 500 free (5:43.55); Lauren Madsen in the 200 IM (3:12.50) and 100 fly (1:32.28); and Clare Howard in the 50 free (31.71) and 100 free (1:12.08).

A third Wahconah senior captain, Janna Looney, was honored alongside Sears and Bergquist during Friday’s meet as they competed in the final dual meet of their high school careers.

Wahconah is off until next Saturday, when it goes to Taconic Hills for the Berkshire Individuals Meet.
