DALTON, Mass. -- Brady Breitmaier and Timmy Kaley tied for medalist honors at 5-over-par 40 Wednesday to lead the Wahconah golf team to a 168-245 win over Hoosac Valley.

The Hurricanes’ Ian Cappiello finished one stroke off the lead, carding a 41 that included a birdie on the par-4 third hole.

Wahconah’s Pat McLaughlin birdied the par-3 sixth on his way to a 42. Wahconah also scored a 46 from Carter Drake.

"We were a bit off today but still managed to play steady golf,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “That's a pretty good sign when your off days result in a 168.

"Everyday our team is learning to deal with different situations, I'm really happy with this group."

Hoosac Valley scored rounds from Kale Kondel (61), Zachary Mungeon (67) and Gabe Bishop and Mike Szabo, who each finished at 76.

Wahconah goes to Taconic on Thursday. Hoosac Valley is at Mount Greylock on Monday.
