MEDWAY, Mass. -- It took five sets Tuesday for the 2021 Division 4 runner-up to defeat the Wahconah volleyball team in the State Tournament's Round of 16.

Eighth-seeded Medway advanced to the quarter-finals with a 18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-25, 15-5 win.

"Wahconah played their best game of the season against a very good program," coach Dave Lussier said. "Tonight was some of the best defensive play from the Wahconah team.

"After winning the fourth set big, it was hard to maintain the momentum into the fifth. It was a very successful season for the warriors (19-3)."

McKenzie LaBier had six kills, six blocks and seven aces in the loss.

Wahconah's Sasha Fyfe had 18 digs, and Bre Robert had four kills.
