DALTON, Mass. -- Patrick McLaughlin Friday carded a 4-under-par 31 on the front nine at Wahconah Country Club to lead the Wahconah golf team to a 124-171 win over Mount Everett.

Only the first group, which included McLaughlin, was able to finish its nine holes ahead of a storm that blew through, shortening the match to six holes for the other three groups.

McLaughlin's day included birdies on the second and fourth holes and an eagle on the seventh.

"Pat McLaughlin shot lights out," Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. "Kid played great. Not a blemish on the card (bogey free). I was happy Pat  was able to finish before the storm rolled in."

Devin Lagerwall paired with McLaughlin in the first group and turned in a solid round of 44 in his first varsity match. Junior Nate Wandrei stood at 2-over through six holes before his day ended early.

Mount Everett was led by Finn Vion with a 51.

Wahconah (4-1) goes to Wyantenuck to play Monument Mountain on Thursday.

Mount Everett (0-3) hosts Taconic on Monday.
