GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Patrick McLaughlin carded a 1-over-par 36 at Wyantenuck Country Club Thursday to lead the Wahconah golf team to a 162-195 win over Monument Mountain.

McLaughlin birdied the par-5 fifth hole on his way to the day’s only score in the 30s and medalist honors for the match.

“Patrick is playing flawless golf,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “In six matches this season, he's shot 36 five times and thrown in a 31 for good measure. Pat has reached a new level this season, one that I haven't seen in a very long time. In my opinion he's the top dog in our league and the man to beat.”

Tim Kaley (40), Brady Breitmaier (41) and Vincent Scalise (45) rounded out the scoring for Wahconah.

The Spartans were led by Greg Kay and Liam Traski, who each finished at 45.

Monument Mountain (1-3) hosts Mount Greylock on Tuesday.

Wahconah (5-1) goes to Taconic on Tuesday.
