Anello Scorches Home Course in Wahconah Win
DALTON, Mass. – Kessler Anello carded four birdies on the front nine at Wahconah Country Club Thursday to finish at 3-under par 32 and lead the Wahconah golf team to a 144-202 win over Mount Everett.
“Kes played outstanding tonight,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “Sam McLaughlin backed up Kesler’s round with a very good night himself shooting even par. Sammie has been a rock all year. His steady play allows everyone to develop around him."
But Thursday belonged to Anello, who started the day with a birdie on the par-4 first hole. He then birdied the fourth (par 4), seventh (par 5) and eighth (par 4).
McLaughlin also birdied No. 7, as did Logan Aitken, who finished just behind McLaughlin with a 1-over 36.
Joe Hoffman rounded out the scoring for Wahconah with a 41 that included birdies on the par-3 third hole and par-4 fifth.
“We played a bit flat at Lenox the night before, and it was great to see the boys come back and go low tonight,” Terpak said.
Finn Vion and Gus Ireland led Mount Everett, each carding a 47.
