Wahconah Qualifies for Western Mass
DALTON, Mass. – Kesler Anello birdied a pair of holes Friday to lead the Wahconah golf team to a win over Hoosac Valley that clinched a berth in the Western Massachusetts Division 2 Championships.
Anello earned medalist honors with a 1-under round of 34 that included birdies on the fourth and eighth holes in the 147-193 win.
“We played strong up and down the lineup,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “Kesler Anello was outstanding, and Sammie McLaughlin continues to make it look easy out there. Rounding out the top four was Logan Aitkens 37 and Caleb Colombari had a very strong outing at 41. Proud of everyone in the lineup tonight, they all played well.”
McLaughlin also birdied two holes on his way to an even par round of 35.
Zach Mongeon carded a 43, and Chase George finished at 46 for Hoosac Valley.
The Hurricanes host Wahconah next Friday.
Wahconah (7-1) goes to Lee on Thursday.
