Taconic Boys, Wahconah Girls Earn Wins

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Michaela Defoe won the 100-yard freestyle and the 100 backstroke to lead the Wahconah girls swimming team to a 105-63 win over Taconic on Friday at the YMCA.
 
Defoe won the 100 free in 1 minute, 8.9 seconds, leading a 1-2-3 sweep of the event. She won the 100 back in 1:20.0. Defoe also swam a leg on Wahconah's winning 400 free relay quartet, teaming up with Summer Daley, Annalise Cramer and Dalail Austin for the win.
 
Alexis Huxtable and Delaney Ivas each won two events for Taconic.
 
Huxtable won the 50 free (34.4) and the 500 free (6:10.6). Ivas won the 100 butterfly (1:23.3) and the 100 breast stroke (1:33.1).
 
Taconic's boys defeated Wahconah, 54-20.
 
Kyle Rochelo and Gabriel Carrington each won two events for Taconic.
 
Rochelo won the 50 free (:28.1) and 100 free (1:03.5). Carrington won the 100 breast stroke (1:32.9) and clocked a time of 2:42.8 swimming unopposed in the 200 free.
 
Wahconah's Noah Schweitzer and Miles Cramer each won one event. Schweitzer took the 400 free (5:21.8), and Cramer won the 100 back, racing unopposed, in 1:23.8.
