Young Wahconah Boys Dominate at Bousquet

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Three freshmen Monday night led the Wahconah Alpine ski team to victory in the Berkshire County League meet at Bousquet Mountain.
 
Wahconah's boys took the top four spots to earn 74 points, easily skiing past second-place Lenox (39 points).
 
On the girls side, it was much more competitive, with Lenox and Monument Mountain tying for first with 62 points apiece.
 
In the boys race, Wahconah freshman Tanner Hill was first with a two-run time of 40.46 seconds. His classmates Kyle Brogan and Drew Dunham were second and fourth, respectively. Teammate Brecken Burke finished third.
 
The next five spots were divvied up by Taconic, Lenox, Pittsfield and Monument Mountain.
 
Taconic's Cody Latimer finished fifth in 41.38. Lenox's Andrew Kng was sixth in 43.34. Pittsfield's Cam Giradina was seventh in 43.37. And Monument's Brighton Sawyer was ninth in 45.50.
 
Competing as individuals, St. Joseph's Nico Terpak and Mike Peplowski were 14th and 16th, respectively. Twenty-seven boys posted times in the race.
 
There were 24 finishers in the girls competition, where Lenox and Monument dominated the top eight spots.
 
The Millionaires' Ella King placed first in 42.20.
 
Monument took the next three spots with Micaela Bartlett, Carly Terranova and Sophia Smith placing second through fourth, respectively.
 
Wahconah's Brittany Quinn was fifth, followed by a trio from Lenox: Abby Caproni, Lily Shields and Hani Chung.
 
Taconic's Morgan Schnauber and Wahconah's Mackenzie Sullivan rounded out the top 10 in ninth and 10th, repsectively.
 
The league will be back on Bousquet on Wednesday.
