Wahconah's Orlando Wins at Lee

LEE, Mass. -- Wahconah sophomores Gabrielle and Danielle Orlando finished 1-2 in the girls cross country meet at Lee on Wednesday.
 
Gabrielle finished in 13 minutes, 53 seconds, just ahead of her sister, who clocked a time of 14:00, setting a mile pace of 6:59.
 
Hoosac Valley placed three girls in the top 10, led by third-place Jamie Barthe (14:22). Hoosac’s Paige Barrow (14:53) and Nataya Cilli (15:09) finished fifth and eighth, respectively.
 
On the boys side, Drury senior Connor Meehan led the way with a time of 11:31, a mile pace of 5:45.
 
He was chased across the line by Wahconah’s Dan Brainerd (12:24) and Chris Campos (12:53).
 
Lee’s Sebastian Dowd-Smith finished third in 13:07, and Mount Everett’s Grayson Duval was fifth in 13:10. Cole Duval (13:21) was seventh for the Eagles.
 
Wahconah placed five runners in the top 12 spots. After Brainerd and Campos came Sam Peyser (13:35) in eighth, Carlton Brooks (14:32) in 11th and Holden Nelson (14:37) in 12th.
 
Hoosac Valley’s Aaron McAdoo placed 13th in 14:38.
 
On the girls side, Lee’s Amber MacDowell (15:33) was ninth, and Drury’s Brooke DiGennaro (16:02), Cassie Crosier (16:13) and Emily Hart (16:18) were 10th, 11th and 12th, respectively.
 
Mount Everett’s girls were led by Carly Duval (16:49) in 14th.
