Mount Greylock Girls Tennis Edges Mount Everett; Eagles' Boys Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Olivia Winters battled to a 6-2, 7-5 win at third singles to help give the Mount Greylock girls tennis team a 3-2 win over Mount Everett on Monday.
 
Mia VanDeurzen picked up a point at second singles for the Mounties, prevailing, 6-2, 6-0.
 
The squads split the doubles competition, where Mount Greylock’s Hannah Gilooly and Charlotte Sanford won, 6-4, 6-1, at second doubles.
 
The Eagles’ first doubles tandem of Ashley Kerzner and Shelby Tinker won the day’s lone three-setter, coming back to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
 
At No. 1 singles, Mount Everett’s Madeline Von Ruden was a 6-1, 6-1, winner.
 
In Monday’s boys match, Mount Everett earned a 5-0 decision in a contest with three contested matches.
 
Cole Duval won, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. Andrew Haiss was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at second singles. Mount Everett’s Gray Duval and Eduardo Rodriguez teamed up for a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles.
