Swann's Photo Finish Helps Lift Mount Greylock Girls

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Mount Greylock’s Katherine Swann edged Pittsfield’s Kellie Harrington by two-tenths of a second on Thursday as the Mounties earned a pair of dual meet wins at Hoosac Valley.
 
Swann crossed the finish line in 19 minutes, 8.74 seconds, just ahead of Harrington’s 19:08.94 finish.
 
The team competition saw the Mounties earn a solid 20-40 win over the Generals. Eighth-grader Erin Keating was third for Mount Greylock, which got top 10 finishes from Jacqueline Wells, Grace Malone, Lily McDermott and Hazel Scullin.
 
Mount Greylock was 2-0 on the day, topping Wahconah as well.
 
Harrington and the Pittsfield girls also earned a dual meet win over Wahconah. Camie Diehl joined Harrington in the top 10 for the Generals, placing seventh.
 
Wahconah was led by Haley Crosier, who placed fourth in 20:22.84. 
 
In the boys race, Mount Greylock’s Ollie Swabey finished first in 17:22.17, about a half minute ahead of Wahconah’s Hayden Kendell (17:49.44).
 
Pittsfield’s Emanual Brown was fourth in 18:23.87. Justin Levesque (18:49.68) was fourth for the host Hurricanes.
