Mount Greylock Volleyball Sweeps Mount Anthony

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Takiera Darrow had nine kills Friday to lead the Mount Greylock volleyball team to a three-set win over Mount Anthony.
 
Darrow also had six digs and four aces for the Mounties, who won by scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-13.
 
"This was a really nice team effort for us tonight," Mount Greylock coach Greg Geyer said. "We were down a few people, and everyone here contributed together. A nice, solid team win.
 
"I am proud of the work this team is putting in."
 
The Mounties put away a back-and-forth second set when serving specialist Brodie Rosier delivered on three straigt attempts at the line -- two of them aces.
 
Emma Hayward had four aces in the win to go with eight kills and eight digs.
 
Alyssa Phillips had five kills, five aces and seven digs, and Gabby Alvarez had 23 assists and seven digs.
 
The Mounties go to Amherst on Monday.
