WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Alexander Axt Tuesday carded a 40 on the front nine at Waubeeka golf links to earn medalist honors and lead Mount Greylock to a 169-231 win over Monument Mountain.

Mount Greylock also scored rounds from Thomas Art (42), Owen Petropulos (43) and Cameron Turner (44) as all six Mounties on the course finished in the 40s.

“Today was a day of weather vs ball striking,” Mount Greylock coach Mitchell Spooner said. “Over the course of only a few short nine holes we were able to navigate the course clean minus the tough conditions. Waubeeka has the ability to drain quicker than most, but when it rains up until you tee off, it is hard to predict.”

“All and all a great day. This time of year is when you decide to be good or great. Today we were just good.”

Gregory Kay led the Spartans with a 53. Monument Mountain also scored rounds from Liam Trask, Noah Kisiel and Paul Naventi.
