Darrow Hits Milestone as Mounties Advance

 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Mount Greylock’s Takiera Darrow hit a milestone with her 500th career kill and led the Mounties to a five-set win over Sturgis Charter East in the Division 5 State Tournament on Friday evening.
 
Darrow had 15 kills on the night, securing the milestone with her 14th of the evening in the 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 13-25, 15-6 victory.
 
She also served three aces in the win.
 
Celina Savage had a team-high eight aces to go with 14 kills and a pair of blocks.
 
Talia Kapiloff served five aces and had two key service runs in the win.
 
Kylie Sweren had four aces, and Jackie Brannan had four kills. Charlotte Coody had three kills and three aces.
 
Fourteenth-seeded Mount Greylock will travel to No. 3 Blackstone-Millville in the Sweet 16.
