LEE, Mass. – Amelia Madrigal earned a key point at third singles Monday to help the Mount Greylock girls tennis team earn a 3-2 win over Lee.

“Amelia Madrigal lost a tough three-set match the first time we played, and she gutted out some big points to win a 7-5, 6-4 match to flip the 3-2 scores in our favor,” Mount Greylock coach John Jacobbe said.

“Shea Kelly and Emily Ouellette [at second singles] were the first match on and the last match off in an over 2.5 hour three-set match that [Lee’s] Kelly won, 7-5 in 3rd. Two very even teams that could have gone either way.”

Mount Greylock also got points from Mia Patrick at first singles and the doubles team of Charlotte Towler and Bridge Igoe at No. 1.

Lee’s boys earned a 5-0 win over the Mounties without losing a set. Korey Chen and Allen Ni each picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins at second and third singles, respectively.

Mount Greylock is home on Friday against Monument Mountain.

Lee’s boys Tuesday are at Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School. The Lee girls Tuesday are at Chicopee Comp.
