Mount Greylock Boys, Girls Earn Pair of Wins
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Noah Klompus, Rafael Mellow-Bartels and Gavin Hetherington each won a pair of events Thursday to lead the Mount Greylock track and field team to dual meet wins over Pittsfield and Monument Mountain.
The Mounties also took a pair of dual meet wins in the girls meet, where Katherine Goss again was a triple winner, taking first in both hurdles distances and the triple jump.
Monument Mountain’s Amelia Desilets won a pair of races on her own, the 1600 and 3200, and ran a leg on the Spartans’ winning 4-by-800 relay quartet.
But Pittsfield’s girls earned a win over Monument Mountain behind Zoe Ruth Brizan, who won the shot put and the discus.
Mount Greylock’s boys took 11 first place positions.
Klompus won the 100 and 200 sprints. Mellow-Bartels took the mile and two-mile runs. Hetherington won the shot put and the discus.
Pittsfield’s boys went 1-1 on the day with a win over Monument Mountain. Dominique Billups swept the hurdles for the Generals.
