Mount Greylock Boys, Girls Edge Lenox to Stay Unbeaten
LENOX, Mass. – Mount Greylock’s Ryder Voisin edged Lenox’s Connor McCormack by 2 seconds Tuesday to claim 10th place overall but, more importantly, ninth place in their teams’ dual meet as the Mounties stayed unbeaten with a 27-28 win over the MIllionaires.
Mount Greylock’s boys and girls both completed a season sweep in duals against the Millionaires and remained unbeaten on the season with one more league meet ahead, Wednesday in Williamstown.
The Mounties girls won their meeting with host Lenox by nine points with Cornelia Swabey again leading the way, placing third behind the Millionaires’ Elyssa Scrimo (20 minutes, 54 seconds) and Norah Schoeny.
Lenox also took the top spot in the boys race, where Ben Harwood (17:11) edged Mount Greylock’s Luke Irwin by five seconds.
The Mount Greylock and Lenox boys dominated the three-team field, taking 17 of the top 18 spots. Only Mount Everett’s Ben Vella was able to break through, finishing fourth.
In the team race, the Mounties and Millionaires were locked in a dead heat until Voisin outkicked a Lenox foe to give his team 27 points and the win.
Finnegan Voisin, Benjamin Mandel and Andrew Holland also scored for Mount Greylock.
In the girls’ race, the Mounties’ Swabey was followed by four of her teammates to sew up the team race. Riley Mae Dickinson, Josephine Bay, Adriana Carasone and Ani Koamaya placed fourth through seventh, respectively, for Mount Greylock.
Mount Everett’s fastest girl on Tuesday was Abigail Reiners, who placed 27th.
