Bernardy, Tassone Lead St. Joe Girls to Win

NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Elizabeth Bernardy and Jessie Tobin each won two events to lead the St. Joseph girls swimming team to a 59-35 win over New Lebanon on Tuesday.
 
Bernardy won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.6 and the 50 free in :28.0. Tobin won the 100 free (:58.4) and 100 breaststroke (1:17.1).
 
Both also swam a leg on St. Joe's winning 200 free relay quartet, along with Elizabeth Bartlett and Emma Whitney.
 
Theresa Kirsimagi (100 butterfly), Bartlett (500 free) and Whitney (100 back) each won an event for the Crusaders.
 
New Lebanon's Gigi French won the 200 individual medley (2:39.1), just out-touching Julia Whitney (2:39.8) and swam a leg on New Lebanon's winning 400 free relay team.
 
In the boys meet, St. Joe defeated New Lebanon, 49-26.
 
The quartet of Michah Tassone, Peter Xin, Artem Dudka and Bailey DiSanti won the 200 free relay for the Crusaders in a time of 1:54.5.
