Phair Leads Monument Girls Track to Pair of Wins

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Grace Phair won the 800 meters and the 1600 meters Monday to lead the Monument Mountain girls track and field team to a pair of dual meet wins over Hoosac Valley and Taconic.
 
Phair won the 800 in 2 minutes, 37 seconds and the 1600 in 5:36.93.
 
Taconic’s Aliyah Bolling had another strong day, winning the triple jump with a mark of 32 feet flat and the 100 and 200 dash with times of 13.65 and 28.06.
 
Kyle MacDonald and Frank Boua each was a double winner for the Taconic boys, who beat Monument Mountain.
 
MacDonald swept the hurdles, taking the 110 in 18.57 and the 400 in 1:05.30. Boua won the 200 (25.08) and the 400 (57.74).
 
Monument Mountain’s boys were strong in the sprints, taking the 4-by-100 and the 4-by-400. Kieran Santos, who won the 100 (12.14), ran achor on the 400 relay; Aidan Santos, who won the 800 as an individual (2:06.99), ran anchor on the mile relay.
 
Hoosac Valley’s boys swept the throws with Dom Acquista winning the shot put (41-5), Joe Delmolino winning the discus (121-5) and Zachary Hubbard winning the javelin (117-7).
