Mount Greylock Girls Finish Perfect Season, Wahconah Boys Win

DALTON, Mass. -- Alexander Perenick finished first Saturday to lead the Wahconah boys cross country team to a 21-34 win over Mount Greylock in the season finale for both teams.
 
Perenick crossed the finish line in 18 minutes, 22.15 seconds on his home course to beat the field by more than 37 seconds.
 
Mount Greylock's Charles McWeeny (18:59.42) placed second.
 
Wahconah's boys filled the next three places with Lucas Wildrick, Peyton Webb and Riley Gladu placing third through fifth, respectively. Aidan Garcia rounded out the scoring for Wahconah.
 
In the girls race, Katherine Swann (19:36.87) and Grace Malone (20:47.53) went 1-2 to lead the Mount Greylock girls to an 18-45 dual meet win that gave the Mounties an undefeated season.
 
Jacqueline Wells, Ainsley Abel and Lily McDermott placed fourth through sixth, respectively for Mount Greylock (6-0).
 
Haley Crosier broke up the sea of red at the top of the leaderboard with a third-place finish in 21:30.78.

Monument Mount Boys Wrap Up Title Run
SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Keegan Leach led a perfect showing for the Monument Mountain boys Saturday as they finished their season with a 5-0-1 record and an undisputed Berkshire County League championship.
 
Leach came home in 17:32.93 and was followed by nine of his Monument Mountain teammates on the time sheet.
 
Scoring for the Spartans were Peter LaRochelle (17:43.59), Diego Salinetti, Myles Gennari and Andrew McCarthey in second through fifth place, respectively.
 
Mount Everett's boys were led by Matthew Lowe, who placed 11th overall in 22:55.08.
 
Monument Mountain's girls matched their boys team with a 15-50 win of their own.
 
Eliza Philip led the way with a first-place time of 22:44.35.
 
Aria Grossman was second in 23:38.24. Ruby Citron, Anna Marie Romano and Zoe Holmes rounded out the scoring for the Spartans.
 
Rochelle Worth led the Eagles with a time of 29:43.30 to place 16th overall.
