Monument Mountain's Haskins-Vaughan Fifth in High Jump at Meet of Champions

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Monument Mountain's Lily Haskins-Vaughan Saturday tied for fifth place in the high jump at the MIAA Meet of Champions at Westfield State University.
 
Haskins-Vaughan was one of five student-athletes to clear 5 feet, 2 inches.
 
The individual title went to Concord-Carlisle's Charlotte DiRocco, who cleared 5-6.
 
Saturday was the second day of the two-day event that athletes qualified into based on their performances at last weekend's divisional championships.
 
Other Berkshire County athletes competing on Saturday included Wahconah's Aryianna Garceau, who placed 23rd in the 100 meters with a time of 12.98 seconds.
 
Garceau entered the competition with the 38th seed in the field.
 
On Saturday, she also ran a leg on Wahconah's 4-by-100 relay quartet, which placed 20th in the commonwealth.
 
Berkshire County also was represented in the boys relays on Saturday.
 
In the boys 4-by-100, the Mount Greylock quartet of Jack Catlotti, Matteo Chang, Jackson Powell and Preston Maruk finished 14th with a time of 45.04.
