Monument Mountain Girls Win Nail-Biter over Pittsfield

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – The Monument Mountain girls 4-by-100 freestyle relay Wednesday earned a three-second win at Berkshire South to give the Spartans an 89-81 win over Pittsfield and a sweep of the season series against the Generals.
 
Keaghan Kline, Adalyn Shufelt, Lily McDonald and Zoe Holmes teamed up for a time of 4 minutes, 4.22 seconds to give the Spartans a win and preserve a narrow, 81-75 advantage going into the day’s last event.
 
Monument Mountain swept the three relays to earn the team win.
 
It also got a pair of individual wins from Holmes.
 
She won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:22.44 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.72.
 
Kline won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.18.
 
Kiera Devine and Jackie Roccabruna each was a double-winner for Pittsfield.
 
Devine won the 200 free in 2:10.38 and the 500 free in 5:50.09.
 
Roccabruna won the 50 free (27.30) and 100 free.
 
Monument Mountain’s boys won their dual meet, 86-44.
 
Thomas Ceola and Quinn Dillon each won a pair of events for the Spartans.
 
Ceola won the 200 free (2:11.18) and 100 free (56.22). Dillon won the 200 IM (2:19.69) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.31).
 
Pittsfield got wins from James Swanton in the 100 butterfly (1:06.87) and Joseph Kearns in the 500 free (6:07.28).
