Monument Mountain Boys Pull Out Win in Final Relay

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – For the second time in as many outings, a Monument Mountain swim team meet came down to the final event of the day.
 
This time, it was the boys’ turn for a dramatic win.
 
Isaac Schultze, Tomas Ceola, Owen MacDougall and Vince Dragonetti teamed up to win the 4-by-100 freestyle relay to take eight team points and secure an 82-76 win over Mount Anthony on Friday.
 
“We were outnumbered, but we were able to pull it off through excellent effort on everyone’s part,” Monument Mountain coach Jill Svirida said. “Very proud of them.”
 
Quinn Dillon, Ceola and Schultze each took a pair of individual wins.
 
Dillon won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 16.99 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.44. Ceola took the 50 free (25.09) and 100 breaststroke (1:17.89). Schultze won the 100 free (58.33) and 100 backstroke (1:12.66).
 
Monument Mountain’s girls earned a 104-60 win over the Patriots.
 
Zoe Holmes and Lily McDonald each won a pair of events for the Spartans.
 
McDonald won the 200 free in 2:13.96 and 100 breaststroke in 1:23.11. Holmes won the 50 free in 26.61 and 500 free in 6:10.69.
