Kline Shines for Spartans at Sectional Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Keaghan Kline Sunday posted two top-five finishes as an individual and anchored the Monument Mountain girls swim team in two point-scoring relays as the Spartans placed 11th at the Central/Western Massachusetts championships.

 

Kline placed third in the 100-yard butterfly and fifth in the 50 freestyle, the top individual finishes by any Berkshire County athlete, boy or girl, in the sectional meet.

 

She also teamed up with Sara Isby, Tess Holmes and Adalyn Shufelt to place fourth in the 200 free relay.

 

In the 400 free relay, Shufelt, Isby, Kline and Jasper Livak teamed up for a seventh-place showing.

 

Student-athletes from Pittsfield and Wahconah also competed at the sectional.

 

Pittsfield’s Joey Kearns and Maggie Vittum each qualified for two events as individuals. Wahconah’s Artois Sancho competed in the 50-yard freestyle.
