Shove, Freeman Shine on Busy Day of Golf for Lenox

LENOX, Mass. – Lenox’s Katie Shove and Mia Freeman finished 1-2 at the Western Mass individual girls tournament on Tuesday morning and then led the Millionaires to a 168-186 win over Monument Mountain at Wyndhurst in the afternoon.

 

Shove placed first in a field of 14 girls from around the region at Granby’s Westover Municipal Golf Course, edging Freeman by one stroke.

 

In the dual match that followed, Freeman carded a 35 at Wyndhurst to lead all competitors, and Shove’s 43 was the second-best score for Lenox (7-1).

 

Kasen Raifstanger led Monument Mountain with a 42.

 

The Spartans (1-5) host Pittsfield on Wednesday at Wyantenuck.

 

Lenox is at Mount Greylock on Thursday.
