Pitttsfield Boys, Girls Earn Dominant Cross Country Wins

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- John Archey led a sweep of the top four places for the Pittsfield boys cross country team in a dual meet win over Taconic on Monday.
 
Archey finished in 14 minutes, 50.76 seconds, about seven seconds ahead of his teammate, David Babineau, as Pittsfield's boys won, 18-37.
 
The Pittsfield girls also beat Taconic, notching a perfect score of 15 with the first five finishers.
 
Kellie Harrington led the way for the Generals, crossing the line in 15:57.13, well ahead of the field.
 
Pittsfield freshman Grace Ungerwitter was second in 18:31.62. Meredith McCandless, Sydney Ferris and Tess McCluskey also scored for the Generals.
 
The first Taconic girl was Lila Robero in seventh place with a time of 19:55.35.
 
The first Taconic boy on Monday was Owen McNeil, who placed fifth in 15:38.58.
 
Both teams are scheduled Saturday to compete in the Berkshire County Fall 2 Championship at Reid Middle School.
