Maguire Leads League-Leading Pittsfield to Another Shutout Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Pittsfield's Jason Maguire highlighted an uneventfual afternoon, standings-wise, in the Berkshire County Bowling League on Friday at Greylock Bowl and Golf.
 
Maguire rolled a 264 game that was the second best score in the league this season to help the Generals earn a 3-0 win over the Lee Black squad.
 
In terms of the team competition, the top five teams in the 10-team league each won, 3-0, to maintain the status quo with a little less than half the regular season remaining.
 
Through five meets in the nine-meet calendar, Maguire and the Generals are alone in first place with a record of 15-0.
 
Lee is just behind at 14-1 with Taconic a point out of second place.
 
The Wildcats varsity on Friday bowled to a 3-0 win over the Lee Orange squad.
 
MaKayla Schuerer and Bella Kotek led the way. Schuerer rolled a 395 series, and Kotek notched one of two 200 games among the girls, rolling a 200-185--385 series.
 
Taconic's Mya Duhamel had the girls' top game on Friday, rolling a 205 (388 series) to help the Thunder beat the Lee Wildcats, 3-0.
 
Hunter Golin led Tacnoic with a 253 game and 443 series that was the best of the day. Andrew Robitaille maintained his league-best average of 218 with games of 226 and 200.
 
Next week at Cove Lanes, the fourth-place Lee JV squad will look to knock off Pittsfield while McCann Tech will look to move up in the standings when it takes on the Lee varsity.
