Pittsfield Stays on Top of Berkshire County League

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Ryan Russo rolled a 211 Friday to lead the Pittsfield bowling team to a 3-0 win over Taconic to stay in first place in the Berkshire County High School Bowling League.
 
Russo's teammates Jason Maguire and Matt Dupuis helped back up his performance. Maguire rolled a 193 that was fourth best among the boys on Friday. Dupuis rolled a 372 series.
 
Lee and McCann Tech also picked up 3-0 wins on Friday.
 
The Wildcats were again led by Emily Holian, who had the best game (196) and best series (358) among the girls in action. Her Lee teammate Bella Kotek was just behind with a 186 game and 321 series.
 
McCann Tech was led by Michael Oakes, who had the second beset game of the day among all the bowlers, 210, and the third best series, 285.
 
Taconic's Mitch McCann had a strong day with a 195 game and 387 series.
 
On Friday afternoon, the league competes at Cove Lanes in Great Barrington.
 
Team standings: 1. Pittsfield, 13-2; 2. Lee, 12-3; 3. McCann Tech, 9-6; 4. Taconic, 7-8; 5. Mount Everett, 3-12; 6. Monument Mountain, 1-14.
