Pittsfield Girls Go 3-0 at Lee
LEE, Mass. – Sophia Lamalfa placed third overall in a five-team race at Lee High to lead the Pittsfield girls cross country team to a 3-0 day on Tuesday.
Lamalfa crossed the finish line 11 seconds behind the Monument Mountain duo of Amelia Desilets and Anna Desilets, who finished 1-2 and separated by just four seconds, with Amelia winning the race in 22 minutes, 55 seconds.
Their Spartans posted a win against Taconic, which was led by Shelby Tart in 11th place.
Host Lee went 2-1 in girls dual meets behind a 13th-place finish by Zoe Mertinooke.
Wahconah’s Megan Tucker cracked the top 10, placing ninth to help her team go 1-2 in duals.
Taconic’s boys had a big day, earning four dual meet wins.
The tandem of Collin Norton and Quinn Ives placed second and third, respectively, for the Thunder.
Wahconah’s Lake Kittler was the fastest boy in the field, finishing in 18:04 and leading his team to a 2-1 day in duals.
Pittsfield’s boys were 1-2 as Ari Weiner paced the Generals with a sixth-place showing.
Monument Mountain’s fastest finisher was Berdy Cheramy, who placed fifth.
