New Lebanon Swimmers Edge Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – George Lamphere-Webster won the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke Wednesday to lead the New Lebanon-Berlin swim team to a season-ending 52-42 win over Pittsfield.
 
Lamphere-Webster set a school record of 1 minute, 4.44 seconds in the backstroke and swam the anchor leg on New Lebanon’s winning 400 freestyle relay quartet to end the meet.
 
He also was one of four Tigers who hit a Section 2 Championships qualifying mark at the meet. Jordan Sotek, Lance Schroder and Grace Kalisz will be joining him at the sectional meet in two weeks.
 
On Saturday, Pittsfield and New Lebanon will join the rest of the Berkshire County League teams at the Berkshire Individuals meet at Taconic Hills.
