Pittsfield Boys, Girls Defeat Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Lucas Godwin and Hayden Plouffe each won two events to lead the Pittsfield High School boys swimming team to a 60-24 win over Taconic on Tuesday at the Boys and Girls Club.
 
Godwin won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 8.2 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:03.0.
 
Plouffe won the 100 breast stroke (1:22.0) and the 50 free (21.7).
 
Godwin teamed with Greg Fournier, Liam Mooney and Jon Halse to win the 200 medley relay. Godwin, Mooney, Plouffe and Halse won the 200 free relay.
 
For Taconic, Kyle Rochelle won the 100 free in 55.0.
 
In the girls meet, Pittsfield beat Taconic, 66-28, behind strong performances from Hannah King and Abby Marsh.
 
King won the 200 free (2:23.3) and the 500 free (6:36.7). Marsh won the 100 free (1:05.1) and 100 breast stroke.
 
Taconic got wins from Allison Gage in the 200 individual medley (2:47.7) and Delaney Ivas in the 100 butterfly (1:10.3).
