BOSTON -- Pittsfield High’s Kevin Quinto tied for 19th at the state Division 1 golf championships on Monday at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park.

Quinto, competing as an individual qualifier from last week’s Western Mass tournament, carded a 9-over-par round of 79.

His day included a pair of birdies -- on the 339-yard, par-4 sixth hole and the 293-yard, par-3 10th hole.

Four players ended up tied atop the leaderboard at 1-over 71.

B.C. High’s Nathan Ingram won a playoff to emerge as champion from that group, which included East Longmeadow’s Noah Peterson.

East Longmeadow compiled a team score of 319 to finish eighth among 11 teams competing, the top finish by a Western Mass school.

The team title was won by Xaverian Brothers with a score of 298. It beat out St. John’s Prep, also at 298, based on a two-stroke difference between the teams’ fifth golfer.
