High School Alpine Season Gets Underway
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Three Lenox boys swept the podium to lead their team to victory in a giant slalom race as the Berkshire County high school Alpine ski season got underway on Thursday at Bousquet.
Oliver Kirby, Kody Lesser and Owen Tanner went 1-2-3 for the Millionaires, who edged Pittsfield, with the next three fastest finishers, by just more than four seconds in the team standings.
On the girls side, Pittsfield raced to a team victory behind Reese Albano, who finished second.
All the girls were chasing Lenox’s Mackenzie Valenzuela, who crossed the finish line in 34.74 seconds – more than two seconds ahead of the girls’ field and with a time that would have placed second in the boys race.
The league will be back at Bousquet next Thursday.
