Mount Everett Baseball Holds Off Lee for One-Run Win

LEE, Mass. – Nathaniel Von Ruden went 2-for-3 with a double Thursday to lead the Mount Everett baseball team to a 4-3 win over Lee.
 
The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and had a 4-1 edge going to the bottom of the seventh before the Wildcats rallied.
 
Lee drew four straight walks to start the inning before Ben Shannon came on in relief. He gave up a run-scoring single but then struck out the next two batters and got a ground ball out to end the game.
 
Hunter DeGrenier struck out six to earn the win on the mound and run his record to 4-0 this spring.
 
Michael Naventi struck out 10 in a six-inning effort for the Wildcats, who got a 3-for-4 day at the plate from Tyler Bartini.
 
Lee (1-8) hosts Mohawk Trail on Friday.
 
Mount Everett (8-4) hosts Pioneer Valley on Friday.
