Booth, Hornets Walk Off Win
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Nolan Booth hit a walkoff single in the bottom of the seventh to complete a four-run rally and give the McCann Tech baseball team a 6-5 win over St. Mary’s of Westfield on Monday.
Mason Rondeau started the winning rally when he reached on a two-base error, and he moved up on a wild pitch.
Cole Stentiford drove in Rondeau with a single to left, and Hayden Barrett followed with a single to put runners on first and second.
Both moved into scoring position on a passed ball, and, with two out, Kale Kondel singled to right to drive in Stentiford and Barrett, making it 5-5.
Jaydon Dimitropolis then doubled to right to move Knodel to third ahead of Booth, who ended the game with his second hit of the day.
Dimitropolis went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles to lead a 10-hit McCann Tech attack.
Barrett went six innings on the mound, allowing four runs but just one earned run. Stentiford provided one inning of one-run relief to earn the win.
McCann Tech (5-5) is at St. Mary’s on Wednesday.
