McCann Tech Comes Back to Edge Mount Everett

SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Brady Vallieres hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth to give the McCann Tech baseball team its first lead in a 4-3, come-from-behind win over Mount Everett on Wednesday.
 
Ty Barrett led off the sixth by drawing a walk.
 
He moved up on a groundball out and Zach Howland’s single ahead of Vallieres’ fly ball to center to give the Hornets a 4-3 lead.
 
Mount Everett jumped out to a 3-0 lead in a first-inning rally highlighted by Jacob Kreis’ two-run home run.
 
Neither team scored again until the top of the fifth.
 
Nick Gilman hit an RBI single to center to get McCann Tech on the board. Then, with two out, Austin Buda singled to drive in Gilman and Dylan Turner to tie the game, 3-3.
 
Lucas Rylander earned the win on the mound for McCann Tech, striking out 12, walking five and allowing two earned runs.
 
Dylan Turner went to the mound with one runner on in the bottom of the seventh and retired three straight hitters to earn the save.
 
Matt Lowe, Heyden Cutlip and Michael Ullrich split time on the hill for the Eagles. Lowe started and struck out eight in five innings for a no-decision.
 
Mount Everett (3-2) hosts Monument Mountain on Saturday.
 
McCann Tech (6-1) goes to Smith Vocational on Friday.
