Mount Everett Moves to 5-0
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Brodie Kinna and Trevor Leonard combined on a one-hitter on the mound Thursday to lead the Mount Everett baseball team to a 4-1 win over Mount Greylock.
Kinna struck out four and pitched around eight walks to give up just one unearned run in five innings of work on the bump.
Darius Taliaferro doubled and drove in three runs to lead Mount Everett’s offense.
Gavin Snyder also doubled for the Eagles.
“Hats off to Mount Everett,” Mount Greylock coach Rick Paris said. “They made a couple really good defensive plays to shut us down, saving extra base hits. I’m still very proud of how my guys don’t give up. Things didn’t go our way but we continued to get after it. Now we have a couple days to work out some kinks defensively.”
Jaden Wells-Vidal had the hit for Mount Greylock.
Eli Kristensen and Emery Rotter split time on the mound for the Mounties, striking out eight and walking seven.
The Mounties (2-3) are at Lenox on Monday.
Mount Everett (5-0) is home on Saturday against McCann Tech.
