Eagles Edge South Hadley to Stay Unbeaten, Clinch Tourney Berth

SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Brodie Kinna went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs Tuesday as the Mount Everett baseball team edged South Hadley, 5-3, to improve to 10-0 and secure a spot in the Division 5 State Tournament.
 
Kinna also threw two-thirds of an inning on the mound to close out the win, joining Darius Taliaferro and Brady Carpenter in collecting nine strikeouts while allowing one earned run between them.
 
Taliaferro went 2-for-4 with a double at the plate. Trevor Leonard turned in a 3-for-4 day.
 
The Eagles, who started the day ranked No. 4 in the first MIAA in-season power rankings of the season, will work on improving their seed on Wednesday when they host Easthampton.
