Lack of Timely Hits Costs Mount Everett Baseball

SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Hugh Cyhowski struck out nine in six innings of work Friday to lead the Pioneer Valley baseball team to an 8-5 win over Mount Everett.

Mount Everett coach Dan Lanoue said Cyhowski used his curveball to keep the Eagles off balance all day.

“At the plate, we watched too many called third strikes and left at least one runner on base in six out of seven innings,” Lanoue said.

Nathaniel Von Ruden was a bright spot for the Eagles, going 3-for-4 with a double in the battle between Bi-County North leading Pioneer Valley and Bi-County South leading Mount Everett.

The Eagles (8-5) are home against McCann Tech on Tuesday.
